As long as I could remember--I've always helped people. As a pastor, nurse, and all-around family woman, I'm definitely the nurturing type. I've always wanted to help people to make a change in their lives--whether it be spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially. It's been my honor to be a change-maker in their lives. But in pouring into other people-- the point of being used, there were times I neglected to pour into myself. At times, I didn't even care that people used me. That was until about a couple of years ago when I had to find a counselor to help me get through my own stuff.
At the time, I didn't want to seek counseling or coaching at first. "I'm a pastor; I don't need counseling." But I soon learned that it was the best thing to have somebody listen to me. Truly listen to me. My counselor was authentic; I was relaxed. She didn't enable me, but she supported me. She listened to me. Now, that's what I want to do with others.
My name is Coach Caresa Robertson Carter and as a coach, I help people who feel like they have the weight of the world on their shoulders--to be that person that YOU can talk to when it feels that you don't have anyone to go to. Being the voice of reason and counsel for others has stretched me and it allowed me to rely on God more. It allowed me to align with him.
